A new way to view your tabs
Vertical tabs moves your tabs to the side of your window, allowing you to see entire tab titles, easily manage tab groups, and free up vertical space. It’s the perfect setup if you typically have a lot of tabs open at once.
To move your tabs, right-click your tab strip and select Show tabs vertically.

Ask about tabs and more in your search
From the Chrome New Tab page, click the + menu in the search box to add context like open tabs, images, and files to your AI Mode search.
To add context to an AI Mode search in Chrome:
- Open the Chrome New Tab page
- Click on the AI Mode chip in the search box
- Click the + menu to add open tabs, images and files and type your query

Dive deeper into your research without losing your place. When you click a source from an AI Mode response in Chrome, the new page opens while also keeping your AI Mode conversation open alongside. Engage with content and ask follow up questions about the new page, without losing your place.
To use AI Mode alongside your tabs:
- Ask an AI Mode question in Chrome
- Click a link in an AI Mode response to open it next to your chat
