[Rewarded Review] Captivating!
Anne· Review provided by walmart.com · December 14, 2024
Fascinating tale that kept me intrigued through it all. I didn’t imagine I’d be so captivated by life on a ship (and shipwreck) but I was totally immersed in the tale. The divergence of the three stories after the conclusion (I won’t spoil it) was a bit meandering but the adventure in the first part was worth it. Neat photos in the book too. I’m usually a reader of historical fiction, it was neat to know this was from a true tale.
Fascinating true account of life at sea during the days of sail.

The book appeared to be new with little use and perfect condition. The subject is fascinating and gives great insight into the days of sailing ships when the captain was the absolute ruler of a very small universe. It was also a very factual account of a real-life experience and the ultimate outcome. Recommend highly for any enthusiasts of sailing ships and the conditions encountered and endured on board these type ships.
Defective book. Pages missing.

The book started at the beginning, but then started over with page 1 after more than 100 pages. I'd love to return it for a refund. It was a Christmas gift and the person just got around to reading it and found that there's a repeat of an entire section. I replaced the book. I see it is no longer eligible for a refund. I only want a refund because it's defective.

It was a good read, intriguing, good character development, good visual images. But the ending was somewhat anticlimactic. I understand that's what happened but I wish it had been presented with a bit more oomph. But I would recommend this book, especially to those interested in shipwrecks.
