There is not a single study in publication that shows Activator/instrument adjusting to get better outcomes, or worse outcomes, than any other type of adjusting technique, so if it can work just as well assuming it's being done properly, meets the expectations of the patient, is explained properly, etc.

There are basically two types of Chiropractors. The musculoskeletal Chiropractors who focus on symptom relief and the traditional wellness Chiropractors who work on subluxations and structural correction.

Musculoskeletal alignment is important. Poor alignment can contribute to pain, and excessive wear on joints. Chiros however, generally to a terrible job of improving alignment since they offer little to no input on the causes of poor alignment and their treatments do nothing to address those causes.

Some MD's believe that chiropractic adjustments are dangerous (especially neck adjustments). Others believe that chiropractors provide no useful treatment and cause harm by delaying proper treatment of potentially dangerous conditions.
