Dakota Johnson & Luca Guadagnino Show Off Shocking ‘Suspiria’ Clip – Amazon At CinemaCon

Hey Amazon, everyone just ate lunch here at CinemaCon. Director Luca Guadagnino and star Dakota Johnson showed off a terrifying clip from their remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiriawhich after it played, marketing and distribution chief Bob Berney deadpanned, “Dancing is dangerous.”

The film, which is set for release this fall, is set in 1970s Berlin, a time which the director said provides an extra layer of suspense. The plot centers on a young American ballerina who comes to train at a prestigious German dance academy and uncovers the school’s dark and menacing secrets.

In the footage we see a redheaded Dakota Johnson engaging in a modern dance as instructed by her stern teacher played by Tilda Swinton. Every move she makes injures another dancer like a voodoo doll in another time frame, also at the ballet studio. As Johnson’s Susie Bannion twists and turns, she physically kills this other dancer, bone protruding, yellow liquid gushing from her mouth. Johnson trained as a ballet dancer for four months.
