Heavy snow and high winds hit Labrador in far eastern Canada early this week.

According to CBC news, 78 centimeters, or about 30 inches, fell in the town of Wabush. Winds peaked near 40 mph, according the Environment Canada's website.

The combination of heavy snow and wind led to considerable drifting.

The CBC reported that transportation was halted and that schools and businesses were closed Tuesday. Some schools remained closed Wednesday.

Below are more incredible photos and video of the snow from social media.
